As you may guess from my past galleries and albums, I like the outdoors. I often tag along with the AWD club for some outdoor fun. Some cool 4WD action, some chilled out camping and awesome scenery. I always have a great time and end the trip with recharged batteries.
This time the adventure was more special as one of my aikido students, Moa Ek came along. Moa is an environmental science student, and a Swede to boot. She had bright eyes regarding many things... the Aussie bush, the 4WD experience and the relationship of everything she was seeing with her studies. Moa was kind enough to teach me some new things on the trip. I can now better recognise the marks, wounds and scratches on trees signifying regular routes for the night creatures.
Both my lenses had a good work out. Some macro action as well as some close-up wides. For you newbie photographers out there, I suggest using wides to get in close as I have done in this photo-shoot. A common point-n-shoot photographer mistake is to use wide purely to put lots of stuff in the frame which results in a busy photo, with no distinct subject and many things fighting for the viewer’s attention.
Pop over to my new album and have a look. Keep an eye out for the photos of the cave with hundreds of abandoned wasp nests covering the ceiling, easily my highlight of the trip.
