Adrienne was kind enough to invite me to a walk long on her list.  I had no idea what to expect from this walk. Starting from Wondabyne station and winding its way to Mooney Mooney creek

through numerous spider webs. With the hot sun beating down on us we reached the lookout at Mt Pindar, where we met a number of tourists had given up proceeding to the cave because of a flooded track.

Not to give up so easily, we continued on and discovered the flooded track. After a moment of consideration, we splashed on through the flooded track until we found ourselves at the gorgeous pool. Some partial nudity, wet fun and a lunch and we were ready to see the cave.

Adrienne said the cave was an overhang and so earlier I was tempted to give up at the flooded track, but when I saw it I am glad that I didn’t stop there. This is no simple small overhang, its a camper’s palace with water, clear sleeping ground and a huge shelter to protect from exposure.  A definite ‘must visit’ place with a sleeping bag and some good cheer!
