The traditional way
Lessons are a great way to get you up and
running with the basic steps in Tango. From there, the sky is the limit!
Learn all about ochos, piruletes, corte en
cuatro, caminata and many others... and if you are interested, you can get
a sense of the historic development of Tango.. it's origins and the
interesting cultural mix that later developed into this amazing dance
style across the globe. You can see some of those styles & steps at
the
CTC
video gallery. Tango lessons can be arranged on a group and on a one
to one basis. The group Tango lessons are held
every Friday at

Another alternative is to join a weekend
workshop in Launceston, Hobart or Burnie. For the Burnie lessons, please
visit the NW Tango
website or feel free to contact the group coordinator directly. In
Hobart, classes are held at the Australian-Italian club on 77 Federal
Street, North Hobart. For more information, please visit the Tasmanian
Club de Tango in Hobart.
In Launceston we value
the input, techniques and knowledge of more experienced Tango dancers so
we have interesting Tango related activities including: social milongas, practicas, classes and workshops on an ongoing basis. Stay tune to our
news
and events section.

Ruth & Rodrigo - Tango Practice
For the busy ones!
If your life commitments don't allow much flexibility, you can also learn and
practice Tango by following one of the three levels of instructional
videos available here
at the CTC!
The videos range from beginners level,
intermediate level, and up to to the more advance dancer.
You can learn from the scratch or polish your style by watching and exercising
by repetition.
All steps are easy to learn as they are performed in slow motion
with Spanish-speaking as well as English-speaking instructors.
The DVD's include tango steps, basic concepts,
Tango choreographies, and many more Tango related videos!
