Multi-Award Winning Magic

In June of the year 2000 James Sleight and Jasmine attended The 27th Australian Convention of Magicians where almost 250 magicians from Australia and New Zealand gathered to compete for national awards in every area of magic performance. James entered four national competitions and surprised everyone with the result.

Out of four competitions entered James Sleight won first place in three national competitions and came second in the fourth.

1st place in STROLLING MAGIC

This type of performance represents close up magic performed in it's most difficult environment. It must be done at very close quarters and if needs be, in the middle of the audience completly surrounded. This is exactly how James performed for his fellow magicians and was recognised as Austrailia's number one in this type of entertainment. James uses this style of magic for many functions from cocktail parties to golf days. For more information on our close up magic please click on the close up link below.

1st place in PARLOUR MAGIC

In today's world Magicians are often asked to perform for a smaller select audience such as a management dinner, a sales meeting or a sophisticated birthday function. With this type of function it is perhaps even more important to leave a lasting impact and create a positive relaxed atmosphere. Once again James was recognised as Austrailia's best at doing just that. For more information on our parlour magic please click on the floorshow link below.

1st place in CHILDREN'S MAGIC

Family events demand high energy, fun entertainment and when James performs as Mr Jim the most often heard comment is " The adults had as much fun as the children." James performed several of his own original effects for the competition. He then combined them with his own brand of family style slapstick to become the number one children's magic show in Australia. AMBASSADOR OF MAGIC TO WESTERN AUSTRALIA

This year James was also the first person ever to be awarded the title of "Ambassador of Magic to Western Australia" in recognition of his achivements in magic and his efforts to promote West Austrailian entertainment to both the interstate and international markets.
