Sailly-le Sec, near Albert (3rd Div, A.I.F.)

The 3rd Division AIF obelisk stands prominently on the ridge north of the Somme River.

My grandfather was in the 3rd Division (44th Battalion)

Note the bucket just behind my hire car. When I arrived workmen were painting the chain and maintaining the monument. It was pleasing to see.
