Our forum is open to anyone for discussion regarding this simulation and flying in general. We are keen aviators, especially of the WWII era and welcome like minded people to share their knowledge and enjoyment of this simulation.

What is IL2?

IL2: Sturmovik: Birds of Prey is a WWII simulation which has been available for the PC for many years now.
The simulation has covered both the European air war as well as the Pacific. Some of the simulation's main features has been the plethora of aircraft in which you can fly and has won favour in attempting to closely simulate the handling of these planes as close as possible to their real counterparts.
Flying in a computer simulation obviously has none of the real world issues such as actual feedback to the flyer in terms of gravity and the fear of dying in combat, but one can appreciate the skills needed in chasing an enemy in the sky and becoming a target themselves.
The recent move to the XBox 360 platform has seen a new influx of players to the game by offering easy accessibility, and acts as an alternative to the PC version for gamers who don't want to upgrade their computers to enjoy WWII flight.  We are hoping for a future sequel that will take this title to the next level.
