Albany Classic

Albany Classic

In March 1936 the first true road race in Western Australia was held in Albany. Called the Albany Tourist Trophy, it attracted 10,000 people, more than double the town's population at the time. The circuit was 50 miles long (80km).

Today the race is called the Albany Classic, and is run on a street circuit of 1.4km on the streets of the Albany C.B.D. Run as a closed invitation regularity trial, the event attracts over 100 competitors each year.
