Animation
Warped Time Productions currently specialises in Flash animation for video and web sites.
The filmography of Alan Thompson includes over a dozen short films and an animated television series. Techniques used include traditional hand-drawn cartoons, stop-motion animation, 3D CGI and modern Flash technology.
Bobtales
Bobtales was a 13 x 5 minute children's television series mostly funded by the Australian Film Commission and SBS Independent. It was first screened on SBS Television (Australia) in 1998 and has since been sold to television stations around the world. It is still being screened regularly on Australian television.
Alan Thompson was principal animator for this series which is based on the aboriginal Dreamtime stories from Western Australia.
A web site for this series exists.
The Desktop Jungle
This student film from 1990 was shot on 16mm film using stop-motion animation techniques. It has been exhibited extensively in Australia and overseas and has been screened on Singapore Televison. Awards include "Best animation" and "Young Film-maker of the Year" awards at the 5th WA Film and Video Festival, 1990.
I am no longer actively developing or seeking out new animation projects. The one exception to this rule is a concept for a stop-motion film which, if it ever develops further would be an extreme long term project.
