Following some linedancing to Christmas songs by the

performed a linedance as well.
Then everyone joined in the old favourite Emu Up A Gum Tree followed by
some children's Carols.
Kathryn Kyle then sang White Christmas and I saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus,
When the children sang Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, the jolly old

About 80 people enjoyed a free volunteers
breakfast at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre in Two Rocks on a cool
Saturday morning in September.
The annual breakfast was initiated and
organised by the
Yanchep-Two Rocks Recreation Association to acknowledge
and thank the many volunteers that we have in our area.
This year's breakfast also coincided with the
Association's 30th Birthday. All volunteers received some chocolate
and a commemorative pen to mark the occasion. A beautiful cake was
also cut to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the Association.
Volunteers are a very important part of our community and it is nice to be able to say
thank you to them and show appreciation for what they do.
Guest speaker Bill Marwick talked about his
early life with the Wanneroo Times. Mayor Jon Kelly and Mr Nick
Trandos were also guests at the breakfast. Past committee
members that attended included Nancye Nicol, Eileen and Bill Boyd,
and Gwen and Bert Belo. The Association's founding member,
Mr Phil Renkin, was also present and still plays an active
role in the Association as the Treasurer.
Lorraine Wallis from the
Renegade Linedancers presented a cheque for $600
to the
Yanchep-Two Rocks Home Support Group Inc. This was a significant
proportion of the proceeds from the
Hoedown held in August. The Hoedown was an annual
community fund raising event organised by the
Renegades
and the
Association.
The Association would like to thank those
special volunteers who helped with the set up, the cooking
and the clean up afterwards.

A big crowd of about 160 thoroughly
enjoyed the GLITTER
themed Hoedown at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre
on a cool Saturday night in August.
The Hoedown was jointly organised by
The Renegade Linedancers
and
The Yanchep-Two Rocks Recreation Association.
As well as locals and
Renegades, there were Linedancers from other areas
including groups from Badgingarra, Gin Gin, Geraldton, York
and Rockingham. Raffle, Door and Spot prizes were
appreciated by the very many lucky winners. A light supper,
tea and coffee were provided.
With great music
and a great Dance
List arranged by Lorraine, it was a
FANTASTIC night!
The Hoedown was a community fund raising
event with part proceeds going to the
Yanchep-Two Rocks Home Support Group Inc.
Thanks to those who donated prizes and those who
helped set up the hall and clean up afterwards.

A great crowd of 121 locals and visitors
enjoyed a fantastic
night out with a lot of fun and raffle and door prizes at the
annual Quiz Night at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre, Two Rocks on a cool
Saturday night in July.
This year's quiz night was again held
'Millionaire' style. This is where four possible answers
are provided for each question and all you have to do is
choose the correct answer. By the end of the night, many
people had learnt that it pays to read the questions carefully.
The winning table was number 14. Second place
went to table number 2. All tables received prizes.
Many participants picked up some great
bargains in the Silent Auction which was conducted during the
night. The auction raised $645.
The Association would like to sincerely thank the
following sponsors that helped make the night such a great success:
Thanks to Teresa, Betty, Eric, Andrew, Julie,
Lorraine and Pat who set up the hall and made sandwiches for the supper.
Also thanks to Terry and Caroline Loftus who
did a great job preparing the questions and running the quiz. And finally,
thanks to Paul, Latoya, Helen, Laura, Lorraine, Peter, Erice, Teresa, Andrew,
Julie, Betty, Joyce and Desiree who helped to clean up and pack things away
at the end of the night.

A smaller but enthusiastic crowd attended and
thoroughly enjoyed the Rock N Roll Dance at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre in Two Rocks on a mild Saturday
night in April.
The night was made all the more enjoyable by
lots of great music
provided by the very popular Bruce and Robyn.
Most of the crowd danced all night!
A light supper with tea and coffee provided
some refreshment for the active rock and rollers. Some were lucky
enough to win Door and Raffle prizes.
Thanks to those who helped with setting up
the hall, preparing supper and cleaning up afterwards. Your
efforts helped make this another
great community event.
-
A large crowd attended the Association's annual
'Aussie Day' Breakfast at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre in Two Rocks on Friday 26 January 2007
and enjoyed:

Following the National Anthem, more than 540
local residents and visitors tucked into a great 'Aussie'
breakfast with a choice of bacon, eggs, sausages, baked
beans, tomatoes, juice, coffee/tea and toast.
With the assistance of North Ward Councillors
Laura Gray and Terry Loftus, the sixth annual Yanchep-Two Rocks Recreation
Association Australia Day Awards were presented after the
'Aussie' Breakfast. The Community Awards recognise individuals, community
groups and youth who have contributed to and been outstanding in the
district.
The following Community Awards were announced

This year, the Recreation Association also
announced and presented two medals of recognition.
Ken Sleap, who usually prefers
to blend in with the background, received a
gold medal for his contribution to
the Association through his upkeep of its web site and
willingness to lend a hand at functions.
Lorraine Wallis
received a silver medal.
Lorraine runs the
Renegade Linedancers and helps the Association run an
annual Hoedown which raises funds for community groups and
services. Unfortunately, Lorraine was not able to attend
the Breakfast.
Entertainment included great music and
singing by Pete Robson as well as a Bouncy Castle for the
littlies.
An army of local volunteers including many members of
the
Yanchep District Branch of the Country Women's
Association, set up, cooked, and served breakfast and
washed dishes. Some people also stayed on to clean and pack
up afterwards. Without all of these dedicated volunteers this
function would not be such a
great success.
Congratulations and well done to all the helpers.
The
City of Wanneroo and
Yanchep Sun City Pty. Ltd. were the major sponsors of
this event again this year. Local businesses Fosters Meats
and FoodWorks Two Rocks also supported the event with
donations or amazing discounts to help the day.
The Association appreciates everyone's help
and contributions.
