A good crowd of locals and visitors
enjoyed a great
night out with a lot of fun and prizes at the
annual Quiz Night at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre, Two Rocks on a mild
Saturday night in October.
The quiz was very entertaining with 20 rounds of 5 questions in 'Pick A Box' style.
Each table got to choose a box. Some rounds were worth triple points and some were worth double points.
The winning table scored 76 points and won a $150 voucher from Oscar and Son.
Second place received Bunnings vouchers and scratchies.
Third place received coffee mugs and scratchies and last place received cake slices and scratchies.
Everyone had a great time.
Many participants picked up some great
bargains in the Silent Auction which was conducted during the
night. The Silent Auction raised $350 with lots of interesting items up for bids.
The Association would like to sincerely thank the
following sponsors that helped make the night such a great success:
Thanks to those who set up the hall and made the supper.
Also thanks to Terry and Caroline Loftus who
did a great job preparing the questions and running the quiz again this year. And finally,
thanks to those who helped to clean up and pack things away
at the end of the night.

67 volunteers enjoyed a free, fully cooked
breakfast at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre in Two Rocks on a cool
Saturday morning in September.
The fifth annual breakfast was
organised by the
Yanchep-Two Rocks Recreation Association to acknowledge
and thank the many volunteers that we have in our area.
Volunteers are a very important part of our community and it
is nice to be able to say thank you to them and show appreciation
for what they do.
The breakfast consisted of a variety of sausages,
bacon, eggs, tomato, baked beans, spaghetti, mushrooms and toast
with tea, coffee and juice. Each volunteer received a pen and chocolate
as a thank you for their efforts as a volunteer for the communities
of Yanchep and Two Rocks.
City of Wanneroo Chief Executive Officer Mr. Daniel Simms
gave a talk on volunteering in the area. This was followed by a talk from
City of Wanneroo Community Development Officer Mr. Luke Hutchinson about his
volunteering experiences abroad.
The Recreation Association would like to thank its own
special volunteers for volunteering their time to set up, cook and clean
up on the day. Hopefully the breakfasts will continue as long as we have
volunteers.

170 various cowboys, sheriffs, cowgirls, squaws,
indians, saloon girls, and a china man came along and enjoyed the
Wild, Wild West Hoedown
at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre
on a cool Saturday night in August.
The Hoedown was jointly organised by
The Renegade Linedancers
and
The Yanchep-Two Rocks Recreation Association.
Lorraine and her band of
Renegade Linedancers did a great job of decorating the hall
with a teepee and wanted posters. Raffle, Door and Spot prizes were
appreciated by the many lucky winners. A light supper,
tea and coffee were provided.
It was a GREAT night!
It was nice to see so many people had come from far and wide including 20 from Geraldton.
People cheered after each dance and stayed till the end of the evening.
The Hoedown was a community fund raising
event with proceeds going to Food Bank and Yanchep District High School. Both groups
were subsequently presented with cheques for $500 each.
Lorraine puts a great deal of effort into the annual Hoedowns
and deserves a big thank you from the Recreation Association for all her efforts for the community.
Thanks very much also to those who helped set up the hall and clean up afterwards.
It was good to see so many helpers and everyone working as a team.

What a great night!
240 people came along and thoroughly enjoyed
The Ultimate Tribute Show at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre on a cool Saturday night in July.
Five versatile musicians created three live tribute bands
in the night's entertainment.
The three and a half hour cabaret show featured
'Sir Cliff Richard' performing all-time classics such as
Summer Holiday, Living Doll, Congratulations, Devil Woman, Carrie, Wired for Sound and many more.
Then 'The Fabfour', Australia's most recognised tribute band, took the stage.
To finish off the night, 'Jumping Jack Flash' performed pure rock and roll entertainment
that encompassed the 'Rolling Stones'.
The Ultimate Tribute Show was about dynamic, positive, moments that impacted on everyone,
performing classic hits and projecting these legendary entertainers.
This was the first time this show has been seen in the northern suburbs of Perth.
The event was sponsored by the
Yanchep-Two Rocks Recreation Association.
Thanks to those who helped with setting up
the hall and cleaning up afterwards. Your
efforts helped make this another
great community event.
-
A small but enthusiastic crowd
thoroughly enjoyed the Rock N Roll Dance at the
Phil Renkin Recreation Centre in Two Rocks on a mild Saturday
night in April.
The night was great and made all the more enjoyable by
lots of great music
provided by the very popular Bruce and Robyn.
Those that did attend had a fantastic time!
A light supper with tea and coffee provided
some refreshment for the active rock and rollers. Some were lucky
enough to win Door and Raffle prizes.
Thanks to those who helped with setting up
the hall, preparing supper and cleaning up afterwards. Your
efforts helped make this another
great community event.

Quite a lot of people got into the spirit of Australia Day by coming
dressed up for the occasion in Aussie colours and outfits.

An army of local volunteers including many members of
the
Yanchep District Branch of the Country Women's
Association, set up, cooked, and served breakfast and

up afterwards. Without all of these dedicated volunteers this
function would not be such a
great success.
Congratulations and well done to all the helpers.
The
City of Wanneroo and
Yanchep Sun City Pty. Ltd. were the major sponsors of
this event again this year. Local businesses Fosters Meats
and FoodWorks Two Rocks also supported the event with
donations or amazing discounts to help the day.

and contributions.
