In order to prevent future splice failures, one W.A. mine recently requested the assistance of Tech Solutions Australia in supervising the production of splices. 
TSA provided:

• a day-long training session to cover techniques for improving splice reliability;


• a supervisor's checklist for ensuring important steps are not left out;


• a splice record sheet for recording all details which may help any future investigations into problems.
