Collage: Image cut from Angus & Robertson (1953) The Australian Encyclopaedia, Halstead Press, Sydney depicting tropical coral fish from Queensland. The Australian Encyclopaedia published for the occasion of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth"s first tour of the Commonwealth of Australia in 1953. Description: This image shows a member from the community in which I live. The person is looking as if in contemplation of the image and is about reflecting upon the way Wudjulah (non-indigenous) scientists gather information. This pastel series is about the way Indigenous people were classified as flora and fauna by the federal government of Australia and scientific circles up until 1967 when we were granted the right to vote and to be classified as human beings.
