This image shows a member from the community in which I live. The person is looking as if in contemplation of the image and is about reflecting upon the way Wudjulah (non-indigenous) scientists gather information.

This pastel series is about the way Indigenous people were classified as flora and fauna by the federal government of Australia and scientific circles up until 1967 when we were granted the right to vote and to be classified as human beings.

Walpa ia an important waterhole in my country. It is the left top fo this painting. Next to that at the top is Pirrmarl. Below are the two jila at Warampajatu withh jilji (sand dunes) between.

This is an important jila (Living spring) in my country. There were lots of people here. There were unpassable mountains on two sides of this waterhole

These are two big waterholes in my country. A the bottom are three more: Jitata, Worrperri and Karkin.

This country called Kumpujarti (living waterhole) my fathers country. We don’t drink from the main jila, there it is a dangerous place. In the Ngarrangkarni, a man was swallowed here in this place. The snake swallowed him when he tried to drink the water. We drink water to the side, from a smaller waterhole.I was only a little boy when my family travelled across this place, there is a lot of jilji (sandhill) and pirnti (claypan that fill up after rain).
