New Paintings
John Cullinane

This is John Cullinane’s first exhibition since the National Gallery of Australia bought one of his paintings.

As always his works are engaging in their mythological and philosophical narratives that aim to heighten our awareness of the structure of human society and the choices we make. Some of the paintings deal with social issues like genetic engineering, narrow-mindedness, prejudice and crime. He is making us aware of these problems but also encourages us to make our own interpretations.

John Cullinane is a highly recognised figurative painter with a strong following. He is represented in many major private and public collections including the Art Gallery of WA, University of WA, Parliament House Canberra, Kerry Stokes and Barry Humphries.
