I put myself through university after 3 years in the work force. I completed my first year on a part time basis and then completed my degree on a full time basis. My initial studies were in the Accounting stream but after the introduction of a new law stream, I transferred to that stream and completed an Accounting Major / Law minor. Curtin University was formerly known as W.A.I.T. Associate,
Australian Society of Accountants After recognition of the 3 years spent in the Crown Law Department as relevant professional experience and after completing the admission requirements through the society, I was admitted as an associate member of the Society. The Society later changed its name to the Australian Society of CPA's and my status was upgraded to CPA. I resigned from the Society in 2000 in expectation of a permanent transfer oversees and the fact that I also have membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Institute of Chartered Accountants Professional Year I completed the professional year on the first attempt during my employment with Hendry Rae and Court. Completion of the year plus the obligatory 3 years employment in the profession qualified me for Associate membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and I was admitted as a practicing CA. I resigned from the Institute in 2005. Graduate Diploma in Business Computing (Distinction) I returned to university and completed a Graduate Diploma on a part time basis over 2 years. I received distinction grades on all subjects and received commendation letters from the Board of Examiners for the second semester 1984 and the first semester 1985. Upon completion of the diploma, I was awarded the Annual Institute of Directors Best Graduating Graduate Diploma Student award. |
