Dana was born in Geraldton and lived in Broome until she was sent to Kobeelya, a boarding school in Katanning.
After leaving school she obtained a cadetship and worked in the Art Department at West Australian Newspapers for 26 years as a press artist. Dana had a variety of jobs, which included photo retouching, Illustration, maps and diagrams. This is where she developed a love for pen and wash drawings.
After leaving the paper she joined a class at Atwell House to learn watercolour painting with well known artist Larry Mitchell, and in the last few years has learnt much about mixed media with Valery Steel.
Dana has exhibited successfully for many years.
