Steve got serious about photography after an art/photography tour of Greece and Europe in 2001. He had always tried to capture more than snapshots, without knowing in a systematic way how to go about it. Armed with the knowledge gained on the trip, he embarked on a continuing process to improve the standard of his image-making. This included joining a camera club and competing in many exhibitions and competitions. Steve particularly enjoys capturing what might be called 'the abstract in the world around us' in his photography. These abstract and semi-abstract images can be found everywhere, both in nature and the man-made world. They may be a tiny detail, or a sweeping line across a landscape, but whatever their origin, they are characterised by strong design elements of line, colour or pattern. A few of his favourite images appear below. |
