UNIVERSE INTERACTIVE: Interstellar Charts
System Requirements:

Operating System:    Windows 98, NT, 2000.

UNIVERSE INTERACTIVE: Interactive Tools for UNIVERSE

Universe Interactive is a long term project to bring fully integrated software tools to Gamemasters for use with UNIVERSE

UI: Interstellar Charts is the first of such tools where Gamemasters can plan their campaigns, make database notes, populate star systems with worlds, plot jump routes, measure and compare distances and relationships between the stars in the Universe environment among other things. Future UI projects include detailed World Builders and Map Makers, which integrate and share data with UI: Interstellar Charts allowing Gamemasters to create, build on and link fully detailed worlds to the stars they are interested in. Future UNIVERSE INTERACTIVE: tools planned are Character and NPC Generators, Robot, Vehicle, Equipment and Spacecraft designers and a few more surprises as the future unfolds...

UNIVERSE INTERACTIVE: Interstellar Charts  first in a series of fully integratable software tools for Universe!

An exact duplicate of data from the original UNIVERSE: Interstellar Charts only in a printer compatible software application!

Allows instant colour code changes to see Spectral Types, Distance Relationships and other data. Calculates distances between stars, place Jump Routes and enter Database notes for any of 192 Stars within Universe space. Easy viewing down to a light year. Print out entire Star Charts in colour. Print out what you want to see, Campaign Maps, Gamemaster and separate Player notes.

A must have tool for any Universe gamesmaster.

UNIVERSE INTERACTIVE: Interstellar Charts are a faithful reproduction of SPI's original 1981 Universe Interstellar Display, retaining consistency with the original Interstellar Display.

Z Coordinate Colour Code - Click to Enlarge

ZCK: The standard Z Coordinate Colour Code as used in Universe.

The Selected Star is ringed has a cross hair locating it's position. The Cross Hair may be turned off or left on.

Note the Overview Map on the Top Left which reflects the Cross Hair's position, thus locating the star in relationship to other stars.

Spectral Class Colour Code - Click to enlarge

SCK: Spectral Class Colour Code. Stars may be viewed using their Spectral Class Colour code.

Various types of colour codes are included with UIIC and the current mode is reflected in the Colour Code Key at the Top Right.

Distance from Selected Colour Code - Click to enlarge

DFS: Distance from Selected Star Colour Code.

Displayed in steps of  5 Light Years with colours ranging from White through to Dark Red this method of viewing shows the distance of various stars from the one selected. In this case the star selected is Sol.

Spheres of Development Colour Code - Click to enlarge

SoD: Spheres of Development.

Spheres of Development are always measure from Sol and represent bands measuring 10 Light years in diameter.

Here you can clearly see the Established and Pioneer spheres with Sol at the Top Left corner. This picture also shows star number codes, which visually display what stars they are on the Interstellar List to the right. These numbers, as virtually all features of UIIC may be selected to be on or off as the Gamesmaster desires, as "What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get" you may select what is printed and what is not.

Tools: - UNIVERSE INTERACTIVE Tools.

This is one of two tools for UIIC, the second being the Star System Generator / Editor. You can clearly see all 192 stars in Universe "Known Space" in any colour code selected. Distances are readily calculated by selecting another star, the two stars selected here are Sol and 61 Cygni. On this screen shot you can see small green circles beside stars which have had planetary systems generated for them. Jump Routes and other Interstellar Routes may be plotted here along with any notes the Gamesmaster may want to make.

This screen shot illustrates how easy it is to see the distance relationship between any star from any other, handy when plotting the next journey or adventure in a campaign. UI Tools can be used in any colour code mode, handy when looking for G-Type stars to populate or looking for the most likely place to put an Established Colony...
