Night falls and you are sailing once again, back to the tight
confines of ship life. After the exercise of the last few days, the passenger
cabins seem terribly confining.
The next day, the routines of sailing aboard the Tireless
Traveller have returned to normal.
A week has passed since you left the island. Ship life is
becoming utterly boring and your thoughts turn increasingly to your destination
and the experiences that await.
You pass a ship that is on a return journey to Karlinger
city. The captain of Tireless Traveller signals the other boat, and they come
alongside. Your captain speaks to theirs for a matter of minutes, and then both
ships are on their way once more.
Land is sighted just after midday. The ship will dock in the
evening and the passengers and their lighter belongings will be allowed off
ship.
Fifty
days after setting off on your long journey, you have finally arrived at the
small port town of Lethlek. The population is around 300, which is barely
noticeable if compared to Elsinian cities, but here, it is of vast importance.
It is not the largest town in De Mutrio, not by a long way. But it is one of the
newest.
Lethlek is located south of the main De Mutrio town, Talonsong. It is also fairly isolated from the other settlements in this land, and as such has been desperate for the supplies in the hold of the Tireless Traveller.
You are among the last of the passengers to leave the ship.
As you walk carefully down the gangplank to the shore, you can see that most of
the village has turned out to greet your arrival. The village itself consists
entirely of log cabins. You can see smoke coming from chimneys, and the smell of
fresh cooking is delightful.
A large fire has been constructed in the centre of the
village, and tables have been set up around it, before long the tables are laden
with food for everyone to enjoy. It is certainly not the biggest, nor fanciest,
feast you have seen, but after your long sea voyage every mouthful is delicious.
The party spends the
night as guests of the Bassets.
The party had befriended the two Ladies on board ship that they were able to stay at Lord Basset’s during their stay in Lethlek, and also managed to catch the attention of Lord Trenwith.
The Lady has spoken highly of your deeds during the voyage to
this Land, it would please the two of us greatly if you would escort us to the
settlement known as Talonsong in a weeks time. I would normally leave today, but
as I had to wait in Lethlek longer than expected, I did some business deals to
pass the time. It will take until the end of the week before I am ready to
travel again.
The crew spend the day unloading the ship.
The Rock wrote home to
his parents.
After spending another day unloading the ship, the Tireless
Traveller’s hold is finally emptied.
Goods bound for Santov are loaded onto the Tireless
Traveller. Santov has a dry dock where more permanent repairs can be made to the
ship.
The Tireless Traveller leaves the harbour and sets sail
heading north for Santov.
Party finishes training at the end of this day.
During the day a young elf enters the village, and causes a bit of a stir, he is from Saoun, which is the country that Elsine has been most at war with in history.
The young elf is named Roedyn, and he quickly befriends the party. He maybe from a different background, but the group is happy to have a cleric to increase their chances of survival.
Lord Trenwith comes to see the party and asks them if they are ready to leave.
They answer yes, collect their belongings. The Bassets bid the group goodbye, and say that they hope to see the group again someday.
