Episode Fifteen

Meanwhile outside the "Room of Life and Death" at The Superficial Treatment Centre for Aesthetic Surgery, Cerebral Treatment and Random Illness...

Sophia and Benjamin Richman sit hunched together in ugly, plastic brown chairs. Benjamin appears strong and masculine while Sophia is weak. Weak like a woman. Benjamin shifts uncomfortably in the chair and a loud, highly inappropriate sound rings through the emergency ward as his legs unstick themselves from the vinyl.
"Ooh, deary me," says Benjamin embarrassed.
The revolting noise and wimpy reaction of her brother sends Sophia in to another outbreak of tears and pathetic wails.
"Why? Why is my mother suffering so? Why isn't she socialising or lounging by the pool like she normally does on a Tuesday afternoon?" questions Sophia with a hint of actual distress. "And who decided to put ugly, plastic brown chairs in the emergency waiting room? Isn't being in a hospital waiting for loved ones bad enough?"
"I don't know, Sophia. I just don't know. Sometimes in life we have questions. Questions that cannot be answered because there are no answers but if we look hard enough for the answers we will sometimes find those answers, but otherwise we are just very disappointed," says Benjamin reassuringly. He isn't the brains in the family.
Sophia looks at her brother like a llama looks at a fish. She wonders how they could possibly be related and then she remembers that they have the same mother and father and everything is clear to her.
Sophia stands up, the skin on her perfectly shaped legs almost ripping off from the suction created between skin and plastic.
"Thank goodness I moisturised this morning," she giggles.
Sophia stands wiping away tears with a white handkerchief and looking closely at a painting hanging on a aurbergine feature wall.
"Art is so facinating, even in moments of crisis," remarks Sophia. She has always loved this painting, ever since she first saw it three days ago when she was doing work experience in the hospital.
Sophia reads outloud for everyone to hear the gold-plated plaque next to the painting – "This is a painting. It was painted by a poor, starving, Italian artist named Milosavich. His name may sound Russian, but believe us, he's Italian."
Sophia sighs "Milosavich..."

SUDDENLY!

A nurse bursts through the swinging doors leading to Rebecca Exwife-Richman's possible death bed and she yells at the top of her voice, "This is a final call for Sophia and Benjamin Richman. Could Sophia and Benjamin Richman please make their way to The Room of Life and Death."
Sophia and Benjamin, who were previously looking in opposite directions, turn towards one another with looks of complete shock and fear dripping down their faces. They consider walking towards the door but what will they find behind it? Is Rebecca dead? Is she in a coma that will last an entire season? The only thing to do now is have a

DRAMATIC PAUSE!

"This is lovely coffee," comments Mary-Jane.
"Ta muchly," replies Vicky.
