Episode Fourteen

Meanwhile back at Theresa Mohammed-Piazza-Richman and Alfonso Mystery's love nest...

Miriam Maid walks through the front door, her arms full of "parcels o' groceries". She is in a very good mood because she has just been listening to her favourite Jamaican music on the bus ride home. As she is only sixteen she is not able to drive but she does not let this hinder the completion of her chores for her lovely boss, Theresa. Public transport is of a very high quality in Harbour Town with every bus stopping outside every house so you're never likely to get mugged walking home from the bus stop.
Miriam is instantly aware of a strange Spanish voice singing a strange Italian song from somewhere in the house. A song of love, of romance, of long walks along the beach and, most of all, of pizza pie. Juggling her shopping, Miriam takes a glass from the sideboard and places it against the nearest wall, using it to secretly listen to the serenading without being spotted.
"Oh how romantic..." sighs Miriam, secretly hoping that one day a handsome fellow with a wooden leg would sing her such a romantic and tasty song.
But romantic notions turn to pure horror when the song finishes and Miriam hears Alfonso Mystery, the husband of her beloved slave-driver, speak in Spanish. Often this would not be surprising as Alfonso is Spanish and that is his native language. However, it is not the native language of Theresa Mohammed-Piazza-Richman who Miriam had been led to believe that song was for!
Miriam runs to the doorway leading into the lounge room and watches as Alfonso blows kisses into the phone and giggles. Ducking out of view, Miriam begins to hyperventilate, her eyes open wide as she tries to comprehend what she has just witnessed.
"Miriam? Is that you?" calls Alfonso, having hung up the phone and disconnecting his international communication. "I feel like having an afternoon snooze. Will you fix me a cup of soothing, hot Horlicks to help me sleep? It has been scientifically proven to aid the induction of sleep."*
"Yes sir!" says Miriam a little too loudly, followed by, "Yes, you horrible, cheating man!" a little too softly.

Meanwhile at Les Moutons, the scene of much excitement and interest...

The crepuscular charm of the evening wafts through the windows of the restaurant and flows over Alexandra Restauranter's face making her skin look particularly beautiful. The plates on the floor look pretty messy though. Someone should really clean those up.
"Oh dear me!" cries Alexandra embarrassed at the mess she has caused. She drops to the floor elegantly and begins to pick up the hundreds of thousands of pieces of broken china.
"Gosh.. I hope you're going to recycle these," says Lisa Treehugger as she goes off in search of a broom.
Jordan Outsider begins to help picking up the pieces of plates without being asked as he is a very kind and very handsome man.
Alexandra and Jordan work in silence, concentrating on getting the job done and desperately avoiding eye contact. Suddenly their lowered heads clash together like two empty saucepans and as they sit back rubbing their heads they look at each other and speak simultaneously –
"Hello Helen," says Jordan.
"Hello Dean," says Alexandra.

*GASP!*
