I never knew the surface of a jellybean was so textured! I love the almost sinister look of "Jellybean #1". The black jelly bean with the black blackground relies on hard lighting to achieve its evil look. This reminds me of B-grade space-opera movies where the asteroid is about to destroy the good guys in theirspace ship -- you can almost imagine Saturn and it's rings in the background. This image was lit using two flashes and a peice of white card. Post-processing consisted of a minor crop/rotation, editing out the pin supporting the jellybean, some dust removal, and conversion to grayscale. For the competiton, it was printed on high grade (heavy) glossy paper and presented with a black mat.
