The City of Perth Western Australia
I
live in the suburb of Morley which is about 5 ks north of Perth, Western
Australia which is on the western coast of Australia. The weather is very hot
during the Summer months, but is not tropical and doesn't get down very low in
the Winter months, so is ideal for the growing of most genera with the help of
'aircoolers' in the summer ( for humidity) and heat in the winter.
There
are a large number of Orchid growers here who grow both Species and Hybrids to
prefection. We have a number of competitive Societies and one non- competitive
Species Society. I belong to The Northern Districts Orchid Society and also The
Species Society of W.A and although I don't exhibit, I still gain a lot of
enjoyment from just growing and flowering my own plants.
