PLATO Intelligence Training Software
Plato 3 is the latest version of the only computer-based interactive Intelligence Training Programs currently available to the general public. Beacon Plato3 is a computer-based training program which is compiled in Multimedia Builder 4.92 for use on Windows NT/2000/XP. Plato 3 is also available in HMTL format and is known as Plato-Web. Beacon Plato-Web contains the same training content but is specifically designed to take advantage of the latest internet browsers and is therefore distributable over organisational intranets.
Plato 3 is intended to provide the user with a broad knowledge of intelligence analysis and its uses, and many of the basic analytical skills the user will need, if they are to become a competent intelligence officer or investigative analyst. The program presumes that users possess no knowledge of intelligence analysis, or intelligence-related concepts. It also presumes that users possess no specific intelligence-related skills. The training program is aimed at the beginner - but is also of genuine lasting value to experienced practitioners.
Plato 3 teaches users what they need to know in order to understand the nature, principles and uses of intelligence. It teaches users the skills which they need in order to be able to analyse information and produce intelligence product. It teaches them a number of analytical techniques to assist them in applying those skills to real information in order to produce practical intelligence product or investigative analysis.
Plato 3 makes liberal use of computer graphics to assist your learning, including 'ScreenCam' and 'Flash' segments showing specific computer-based analytical techniques as they are actually performed.
Plato 3 is deliberately structured so that it is equally relevant in a national security, law enforcement, military or commercial environment. This is because the principles, skills and techniques users learn are universal in nature, and can be applied across the full gamut of intelligence and investigative endeavour. They are therefore transportable between agencies and thus more likely to be of a long-term and lasting use in a range of situations, including management, research, consulting, and everyday life. As a bonus, Plato3 also contains the most comprehensive glossary of intelligence and related terminology currently available.
