Bonus 2
photo OR scan of a Xerox copy of your face AND a FAKE pony
Everyone had different interpretations of this. There were photos of photos of people accompanied by fakie ponies, photos of scans of people with a fake pony on the side. Scanned or photocopied images of people with fakie ponies standing nearby. And also what I believe is what we were meant to do - photocopies or scans of faces with fakies also in the scan or photocopy.
I figured I'd probably get yelled at if I tried to photocopy my face at the library so I decided to scan myself. My scanner does not like 3D objects, anything not touching the scanner bed shows up grey and blurry.
I turned the monitor around so I could see it and stuck my head on the scanner bed and pressed the "preview" button. The preview comes up quickly. Still, standing with my legs bent to get to the level of the scanner is kinda uncomfortable and my legs were shaking.
I actually looked properly at the preview and saw it didn't look too bad. I realised that the actual saved image would be slightly different because I'd moved but oh well. I pressed the save button, gave it a name and stuck my head back down and pressed the save button again to start the scan proper. Nothing happened. Tried again... nothing. So I took a close look again and realised the pointer wasn't completely on the button. Move pointer, put face back on scanner, click.
It starts to scan. I realise my cheekbone is pressed rather uncomfortably against the scanner bed but think "if I move it'll go all blurry so I will just tolerate the discomfort until the scan is over." What was probably 2 minutes later I opened my eyes and glanced at the progress bar. It was less than 10% done!! I was like "ugh." but crouched there, staying as still as possible. Opened my eyes again not long after and checked again, still barely through it.
Then an idea struck me. Screw this discomfort, why don't I just use print screen on the previewed image! So I did, and noticed the actual scanner thingy had barely started on it's trek across the scanner bed, that would have taken AGES to finish scanning and I don't think I could have held still for so long.
The print screen trick worked fine, thank God. My hair colour shows up really well in the scan!!
