The Therapeutic Learning Centre was founded in order to offer research-based educational tutoring and to specifically enable students of all backgrounds to achieve their best in the classroom and beyond.

We offer a number of services, which include:
• early screening for literacy and numeracy skills;
• academic assessment;
• small group academic tutoring;
• individualized tutoring for all year groups;
• specialized programs for students with specific learning difficulties
• a range of academic workshops that cover topics as study skills, self advocacy and time-management

We at the Therapeutic Learning Centre are passionate about helping students to master the skills to reach their potential. We are very sensitive to children’s educational needs and difficulties and offer many avenues of help.

Jennifer Amy - Director of Assessment and Specific Learning Disabilities Programming

Jennifer Amy has been teaching for over 20 years in the United States, Canada, England and Australia. She has a Bachelor of Arts in History, teaching diplomas in both Secondary and Elementary Education and a T.E.S.L. (Teaching English as a Second Language) degree from the University of Texas as well as a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Calgary. As part of her ongoing dedication to professional development she is enrolled in the Doctor of Education Program at the University of Western Australia (UWA).

Anna Cathcart – Director of Academic Tutoring and Online Learning

Anna Cathcart has been teaching for nine years in Australia and Europe in a range of subjects including History, ESL (English as a Second Language), LOTE (Languages Other Than English), English Literature and Media Studies. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication Studies and a post graduate diploma in English, LOTE and ESL from Murdoch University. Anna is currently enrolled in a Masters program in Internet Studies at Curtin University and also teaches at a private secondary school in Perth’s western suburbs.
