Backlash Jazz Quintet's first album "Through the Rubble" was released on December 2nd 2010. Consisting of original material by all group members, the music is influenced by 1960s hard-bop legends Art Blakey, Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Cannonball Adderley & Herbie Hancock as well as elements of 1970s funk. The diversity of approaches to this by the five composers contributes to a variety of styles on the album.
