Bay to Birdwood 2006

The Vintage section (1919 to 1929) at the Rally start at West Beach
Thelma in the lineup just before the start. Fortunately the rain had stopped by then. The veteran cars all went first at the start line, and Glen Dicks did his usual flag waving thing, although I am not sure if he lasted the whole 3 hrs! Veteran's waiting at the start
There wre LOTS of Model A's as the national rally was in Adlaide the following week. A dozen cars came over from Perth and drove back a couple days after we did. These two Overland tourers had definitely been touring overland - from gulf to gulf as per map on windscreen
Arriving at Birdwood A true classic for all those Wallace and Grommit fans! Yes this was driven the 70 km's to get there, and was even rougher inside than out! Heather's favourite hood mascot - a kookaburra
A superb Austin 10/4 that was entered in the Concourse section, but was parked in the Post Vintage area Thelma's twin!
Under the bonnet of a vintage Rolls Royce Sports Roadster - a work of art! A n enterprising LandRover owner setup a water pump and shower that was driven from the power-take-off. It was idling in 4th gear. A pair of '29 Chev sedan wedding cars - and a some blatant plugs for business
A section of the post vintage cars at Birdwood - bikes are near the river to left, rest of post vintage is in another area off to bottom right
