Sentience are Michael Dias and Zaamien Tallis.                        

Welcome newcomers and familiars. This website is designed to inform those we share this planet with about the work of Sentience Inc.; a collaboration of likeminded humans whose primary interest is the development of art culture in Western Australia.

 

Biography

The Sentience collaboration between Michael Dias and Zaamien Tallis began in 1996. Zaamien  has been influenced by drummers such as Denis Chambers, Billy Cobham and fusion bands such as DIG. He began drumming at the age of 6. Now 21, he has already played in a variety of Jazz and rock ensembles and is currently teaching in Perth,  Western Australia.

Michael Dias, born 18/12/72 composer, guitarist began music at age 15 influenced by British 60's blues and bands of the "progressive" rock period between 1967 - 74. Guitarists such as Alan Holdsworth, Tom Verlaine, David Gilmour and Steve Hackett and bands such as The Enid, The Mothers of Invention and King Crimson are regarded as his main influences.

Michael played with Plenty Child from 1991- 93 with keyboard player and composer Wheldon Thornley, Jason Watts Bass and Kim Blair Drums. Wheldon Thornley plays keyboards on the Sentience CD.
