"BMW Motorsport GmbH was founded in 1972 under race manager Jochen Neerpasch. It's identity badge consisted of light blue, purple and red diagonal stripes. Whenever these cars from Munich turned up, the competition saw RED!"

NEWS

Almost ten years into this project and the BMW product is as reliable as ever. Apart from servicing, the car has had no major mechanical problems.
Brett sold his red E30 featured in this website and the running gear was sold separately to go into yet another E30 coupe.

Brett is well under way with the Silver turbo E30 M3 events car. He’s just finished installing a new rollcage.

My green E30 is green no more! An IS bodykit with M3 front is now on the car. New monster Wilwood brakes are being fitted and I'm looking for some new wheels so the brakes can fit.

As for the new colour?? Nothing too loud or obnoxious….Audi Imola YELLOW!

Thanks go to Alex Mitic for organising the re-spray.

Alex is a legend when it comes to mechanical repairs and re-sprays.

Credit for the M50 conversion must go to Brett Morse and Rubin Sadique. The conversion was done at Rubin’s workshop (BM Auto Engineering).

They had the expertise to attempt it back in 1999 when no one else had, even after people were saying that it couldn’t be done. They worked through all the problems and setbacks on their own. When I first saw Brett’s red E30, I immediately knew that I had to enlist these guys to transform my car as well. The fact that my E30 is still as good as ever after all this time is a testimony to Rubin and Brett’s brilliance and attention to detail. All their subsequent projects just confirm what I’ve said here.

How about a short mpeg of Brett going sideways?

Here’s another mpeg of his current Silver M3 S50B32  turbo.

Here’s a link to some videos showing what a standard M50 can do for your E30.

THE E-30, 3 SERIES.

The E-30 was produced and sold from 1983 to 1991.
BMW realised that the limitations of mass produced road car suspensions and
engineering were a major handicap when applied to motor racing.
The factory therefore designed the optimum geometry for the strut front/semi-trailing arm rear suspension and chassis.
The factory designed a purpose built car that could easily be modified to race, and then developed the E-30 model as a family car from that.
It's not too difficult to see why the E-30 is a sought after model to develop.
It weighs in at under 1100kg and can be easily modified for better engine, suspension and brakes.
