| In these pages I
offer a
range of teaching-and-learning activities based on topics listed in the
menu
bar above. |
 |
| Currently these
include a series of units for teachers who
would
like to introduce the great classroom instruments known as Angklung. |
 |
| There are games
listed which have a direct or sometimes vague relationship with music
but are great fun anyway. I'm a true believer when it comes to the
value of playing games with children. So much affective and
social
learning is involved and it can give an otherwise 'dysfunctional' class
many opportunities to become a cohesive working unit. |
 |
| I've provided
half a dozen sequenced units for learning recorder, again with my own
music. Recorders are much maligned and I've been one of their harshest
critics across the years. Unfair of me really, because they must have
introduced millions of children across the past fifty odd years to the
joys of playing a musical instrument. They provide a great vehicle for
learning to read and interpret music and they easily lead on to other
woodwind instruments. |
