Clinic appointments are generally scheduled between 9.00am - 5.00pm weekdays.  After hours appointments may be arranged including alternate Saturday mornings.

 

A private consultation is an excellent approach to receive the education and support to improve your sleep and reduce stress as each session is tailored to your specific needs.

 

Confidentiality is a priority.  You receive quality time and attention and will feel totally at ease with your private sessions.   A doctor’s referral is NOT needed.

 

If you are already consulting with a doctor, psychiatrist, specialist physiotherapist etc. regarding your sleep and/or stress problems then we offer the option of providing reports and maintaining contact with your practitioner.

We then structure your education and tools for recovery

Our attention to your needs may include any or all of the following.

Giving you a clear understanding of the underlying physiological principles governing the sleep and stress experience; emotional influences; nutrition; how to deal with the busy mind; rhythms/cycles and your lifestyle; developing excellent breathing; the principles of correct relaxation; and, how to use the mind more effectively to sleep better and reduce stress.

Stretching and flexibility, mindfulness massage and/or polarity therapy may also be included to help you address pain, tightness and energy balance of the physical, mental and emotional levels.

Given our focus to empower clients, three or four appointments are usually sufficient.

Clients who become inspired with their progress often book a regular maintenance session

Stretching and Flexibility

Your sleep quality and stress health will be enhanced if your body is ache-free and flexible.

You will find yourself sleeping much more comfortably, and more fluid and free with your everyday activities.

 

Our body is designed for motion, however we often sit for long periods at the 

computer, driving, studying etc.  A good stretching and flexibility program needs to 

be a regular part of our life.

 

Stretching increases blood flow to the muscles and joints.  This not only tones, 

energises and slims the body, but soothes the mind as well.  

 

In a structured stretching and flexibility program you will be guided in a simple, relaxing practice session that you can then integrate into your lifestyle at home.   make an appointment

Mindfulness Massage

As well as improving circulation, muscle and immune function massage stimulates the natural flow of energy in the body and is excellent for enhancing sleep.  

 

Massage is the oldest healing method known to humankind.  

Mindfulness is a powerful Buddhist meditation practice helping the mind to develop clarity and insight in every passing moment.

                                                                            

 

 

Mindfulness Massage is the superb blend of Brenda Doherty’s skill, and training

in Buddhist meditation, and Swedish and Remedial massage techniques.

Your session is conducted in quietness and comfort.  

 

Your mind gradually unhooks from the day’s activities and comes to settle more and more in the present moment experience.                                                 

 

As your focus deepens, the body and mind receive refreshment at a core level.                                                                            

 

The mindfulness massage session is conducted with firm, deliberate pressure and with healing massaging hands.  Circular and kneading motions relax the muscles.  If you are wanting a ‘knuckles and elbows’ sports massage then this session is not for you.
