The PC Desktop Calendar was developed in response to requests from two of Perrington's existing Business Partners, both of which are leading publishers of pictorial wall calendars in their respective countries of Australia and South Africa.

The development objectives were to produce a state of the art, Pictorial Desktop Calendar with widespread appeal to PC users. Such appeal though, had to be specifically focused so as not to dilute our Clients' traditional calendar markets. A product clearly recognizable as a state of the art, PC implementation of the perennially popular pictorial calendar. Additionally, it had to be unequivocally the very best of its type and a product that would generate significant, new income streams for our Clients, from their existing image libraries.

Perrington's resultant PC Desktop Calendar runs under all popular WindowsTM 32bit Operating Systems, now all but universally adopted by business worldwide. It is not three mouse clicks away hidden amongst a long list of programs, but unobtrusively sits, icon-sized, on the User's PC "Desktop", immediately accessable and every-ready to be expanded into a highly functional and appealing calendar with an extremely efficient, inbuilt, event reminder system. Our Desktop Calendar is multi-functional, comprising scrollable monthly calendars as well as an image window in which an enjoyable, thematic suite of installed images can be displayed. The User can freely move and re-size the calendar up to full screen size or, when not needed, miniaturise it into the Systems Tray of the PC "Desktop". Perrington's Desktop Calendars have an infinite shelf-life as they initiate on installation onto the user's PC. They can also be created with variable "lifespans" from as little as "one month" (for samples) to "perpetual". As an option, Perrington's Desktop Calendars can be authored to allow users to display not just the one pictorial presentation supplied within the calendar, but whole libraries of enjoyable "Image Albums" created by Perrington from thematic sets of images sourced from its Business Partners' image libraries. Subsequent sales of these additional Image Albums will generate further ongoing income streams for Business Partners, on and above those that accrue from initial calendar sales.

The Desktop Calendar's software allows for an any number of Image Albums to be installed and then displayed within the calendar at the click of a mouse. A whole variety of marketing incentives become available, e.g. "Buy three additional Image Albums and get a free two year life extension on your calendar".

It is suggested that Perrington's Desktop Calendars together with associated Image Albums, as well as being sold through traditional retail outlets, could also be sold online via the Internet. Business Partners, wishing to sell online, can either elect to create their own Web presence from which to market such products or have Perrington (invisibly) provide this service for them.

With all Web sales being fulfilled by electronic download, very attractive prices can be offered for online product, as no hardcopy (disk) of the product has to be actually manufactured, packaged, warehoused or delivered.

Another powerful and unique feature of Perrington's Desktop Calendars is their ability to optionally present a permanent display of unobtrusive, regularly changing, promotional messages in the bottom corner of the User's PC "desktop". Implementation of this feature makes such Desktop Calendars ideal Sales Promotional products, Public Relations tools and Corporate gifts.

New Desktop Calendars and Image Albums are created by its Business Partners simply supplying Perrington (via email or mailed CD) with electronic copies of the images, titles, texts, etc. they wish to comprise each new Product Title. Perrington authors this information into agreed Desktop Calendars or Image Albums and returns a "Pre-Production Master" of each, again via email or on CD, for production approval. Once approved, Perrington duplicates, labels and airfreights each order to the client. Under agreement, some Business Partners elect to locally duplicate and/or individually package their own product disks.

Many other unique features have been inbuilt into Perrington's Desktop Calendar software to maximise the product's appeal and functionality and ensure its market success.

Whilst there are a number of competitive electronic calendar products of varying quality on the market, very few are pictorial and we know of no product in the world market today, anywhere near comparable to Perrington's Desktop Calendar.

The copyrighted Image Albums can be specifically authored as web page looking "Information Packs"of Electronic Brochures comprising intergrated images and textural announcments of new products, services, special offers, or major events, with the dates of such events and reminders there-of, automatically and invisibly inserting into all recipients' Desktop Calendars. Desktop Calendar software enables users, when online, to automatically (or selectively) display or download any number of Image Albums or Information Packs posted to a web page on the Internet. Confident in the quality of its products, Perrington shares the risk of development of each new Desktop Calendar by structuring its total authoring and software licensing charges as volume related royalties payable on the number of Desktop Calendars actually produced. In return for these royalties, Perrington not only authors each new Desktop Calendar Image Album/Information Pack, supplies a "Production Master" and licenses its duplication, but also provides full international "after-sales" and "technical" support to all purchasers of its products.
