Fleete is a blue parti-colour and comes from a long line of champions, he was not shown in the breed ring as we spent so much time at horse events and obedience trials that time was against us. Fleete gained his CD very quickly and in grand style and had learnt all his open and utility work. Sadly his promising obedience career was cut short by an injury that prevented him from any further jumping. Whilst training for obedience his recalls caused some problems as he was so fast that he could not stop himself in time to present in front of me. Helpful tips from onlookers ranged from dumb to hilarious!!! One wag suggested I stand in front of a brick wall, he reckoned after Fleete had run into the wall a couple of times he would slow down. Uhm, always supposing he would still be around!! Another 'helpful' soul thought that it would be a good idea if I fell down face first just as Fleete was coming in as this would surprise him so much he would steady up!! I tell you my friends do not lack in the sense of humour department.

What I did do was to hold out arms length in front of me a large piece of freshly cooked chicken (Fleete cannot resist food!) As he steadied to grab the food I brought my hand in so that Fleete would present in front of me. Luckily Fleete cottoned on very quickly as I am a staunch vegetarian and holding this lump of dead flesh did not amuse me!! To this day Fleete still does super fast recalls with a super present.

Fleete loves going out on 'demo' days and with his stylish heelwork, ultra fast recalls, fast retrieves and superb temperament he is a favourite with audiences everywhere whether it be nursing homes or local fetes. He is one of natures gentlemen and we love him dearly.
