The English translation of the inscription reads:

Translation notes:
- "Beloved sister" is an English translation of the
German compound word "Herzensschwester", Schwester
means sister. "Herzens":is used as a prefix to describe
special closeness. Herzensschwester is translated here as "beloved
sister", although a better literal translation might be
"soul sister", which in English does not adequately
communicate the intended meaning.
- The modern spelling of Cassel is Kassel.
