Letter from President Cleveland

Executive Mansion
Washington
July 21 1886

My dear Sir:

I am in receipt of your recent letter advising me of your intention to give my name to your infant son, and beg to acknowledge the compliment which you thus confer upon me in making my name a household word.

It gives me pleasure to consent to your wishes that I should be represented in the office you name at the baptismal ceremony.

Very truly yours

Grover Cleveland.
