Good vs. bad
by Celeste Smith

What is so wrong with conformity?
What is so wrong in following the rules?
Listening to your teachers’ advice?
Respecting your parents’ wishes?
Why does no one recognise the
Sacrifice you put in to doing well?
No one looks at you twice.
They look at the ‘rebel’ in admiration
Even though the rebel is a selfish cow
Hurting the people around her
Caring only for what she wants
Refusing to see the good intentions
Behind her parents’ actions.

A note from the author

I was recently informed of an accident that happened to a friend of a friend, she ws at a party and decided to drive home under the influence. She was a but of a popular kid who thought doing what her parents said was not keeping with her "cool" reputation. I wrote this poem to hopefully show people that parents only want the best for you so listen to them.
