The apple of His eye
I am sure all of us have heard the phrase "Apple of their Eye". Exactly what does that mean? It means, in a common sense sorta way, that whatever is the Apple of someone's eye is something they are proud of. So if we are the Apple of HIS Eye, HE is proud of US. Well, we are called the Apple of HIS Eye. See, right there in the GOOD BOOK (Deuteronomy 32:10). We are called the Apple of HIS Eye. This means we get special preference when we do things for HIS glory. The practical definition of the Apple of one's eye is that little reflection or glint you see when you look into someone else's eye. This picture for me to illustrates that:
See that little glint? That is your reflection. Imagine that this is God's eye. In order for you to be the Apple of HIS eye, you have to be standing face to face with HIM. You look into HIS eyes and what do you see? You! Now imagine what HE sees when HE looks into your eyes. HE sees HIMSELF. The perfect reflection of HIMSELF. This is what those of us who profess Christ as Savior need to be. The perfect reflection of HIM. People who meet us should think--WOW! I just saw GOD (Jesus). Is this what happens when people see you? I pray so. I know that in my case it is not always so. I am not perfect, just forgiven. I strive daily to be the Apple of HIS Eye. My prayer is that you do too. | |||||
