The texture of God
by Dianna Brown

I recently answered a question in Answers about the texture of God. The asker wanted to know what the texture of God is like. The first thought to enter my head was God's texture is ever changing.

Texture is a sensation that is based on what we feel. It can be either emotional or physical. God's texture-like all of His actions, thoughts, words and deeds-serve one purpose. Our ultimate transformation into the perfect bride for Christ. As a loving Parent, God does that which shapes and forms us into that image which is really His image.

When God feels rough - We need bits and pieces broken off.
When God feels topsy-turvy - We need polished. (Like a stone in a polishing chamber.)
When God feels like stone - we are out of His will and the stony facade turns us back toward the direction He would have us go.
When God feels burning hot - We are being tempered to withstand the next testing. (Like metal is tempered to be stronger)
When God feels like he is squeezing - We are being pressed and shaped into the gem we are to be. Diamonds are made this way.
When God feels like irritation - We are being made into the pearl. (Ask any oyster you meet about irritation. Look at what they make from it)
When God feels all warm and fuzzy - He is just loving on us. Giving us comfort until the next testing comes.

We will be tested again. It is the nature of this walk with Christ that we christians have. Perfection will not be reached until we see Jesus and we christians need to realize this and learn to allow God to work in our lives to accomplish His perfect will.
