Faded Past
by Stacey M. Bleyle

When the world has let you down
And you can't take it anymore
Can't handle another argument
Or another closed door.
The changes life gives you
Whether you are rich
Or dirty, stinking poor

Reach for a memory
From long, long ago
One that made you smile
Gave you that special glow
Reach for the happiness
And never let it go

Embrace everyday
For it might be your last
And your happiness
Will be nothing more
than a faded past
