Yawn of a new day
from the conception of her pregnancies i have not forsaken my friend and by her side i stay as she bravely face the pains of labor. many witness the miracle of the birth of her children that she, Mother Night, gives to us, though weak with exhaustion. at first the babe lies silent as she squints with pink-hued eyes, stretching with awareness, adjusting to her world. as we watch, united, the yawns of Baby Day, Father Sun comes shyly in. he cradles his child in the warmth of his arms, leaving so Mother can sleep. he smiles down in fatherly pride as we listen to the newborn sounds, knowing without a doubt, Day has awakened! out they go with now reserve, eager to share their joy. Father Sun and Baby Day start their adventure with us. their journey takes them far away, it's too late to turn back now. No worries, Grandmother Moon and all the Sibling Stars will put Mother's fears to rest. She must understand her Children grow fast so others need to be born, but will be left in Grandmother's care. we say goodbye to our now grown Day, some not wanting to let go. with bittersweet "so longs!" we are anxious to welcome future Days with all that the others have taught us. | |||||
