The Bathurst Page

130 Miles West of  Sydney Australia is a place that is almost sacred to any Australian that is remotely interested in motor racing . Its know as Bathurst and each year since 1938 there has a been a motor race there . In 1938 the first meeting was held . The track was laid out , everything readied and the spectators started coming ..and coming ........and coming. There was 6 toilets on Pit straight and 6 in McPhillamy Park  ....and 20,000 people !!!

The organisers were caught ...with their pants down (Pardon the pun) . There are many stories like this one . I will get into that more at a later date but for now here are some historical photos from Bathurst . ENJOY !
