The Fb Holden was released in 1960 and was a major improvment over the FC . Although it was given a bigger more powerful motor , the effects were negated by the extra weight . Although built on the FE/FC floor pan the body was major improvment over the FE-FC .
The introduction of the FB also saw the end of the 217 Business sedan but also the release of the Left Hand drive version for the export market . Here are the details of some of the features of the FB ;
Some of the new features included :
The FC was almost identical to the FC mechanically . The motor was given a little beef up in horsepower , the body was given some new chrome trim , two tone paint and rebadging (See ' Telling the difference ' )
Well the sedan and station wagon from the side are reasonably easy to
tell apart . The FE was a fairly basic looking vehicle with just a single
chrome strip on the front gaurd . The FC had fairly extensive chrome work
and usually accompanied by 2 tone paint work . Apart from this it was very
hard to tell the difference But what if your looking front on . Again its
easy! The FE has a badge mounted in the center front of the bonnet (see
below ) where as the FC had the word HOLDEN across the bonnet .
