What you need to know

This page is "under development" and I'm open to feedback. I've thought about how to present it, but keep coming up blank. So, what I have done is to split it into three sections, and just put down dot-points at this stage.

Tools

• Pliers
• - great for bending
• Cutters
• - or side cutters. Used for trimming
• Needle files
• - for filing (duh!)
• Super-glue
• - for sticking metal to metal, plastic to metal
• Polystyrene glue
• - for sticking plastic to plastic
• Pin vice
• - for holding fiddly bits so I'm told, but I don't have one!

Techniques

Filing - drag away from the model, slowly. Don't "saw" back and forth else you'll slip and kill detail. While dragging a file backwards is NOT the right way to use a file, I have found that it helps stop the file from jamming.

Digging - use a pointy ended knife to "dig" out of the model, but for heavens sake BE CAREFUL!

Tips

* To remove super-glue use acetone nail polish remover.
