A: Backflow prevention devices protect our water supply from
contamination. They are mainly used on commercial properties. See
Wikipedia's explanation. Accredited backflow plumbers can
install, commission and test backflow prevention devices.
Q: Do you service gas appliances?
A: No, but I am happy to disconnect the appliance for you. Most AGL
branches can organise appliance servicing.
Q: Do you do full
bathroom renovations?
A: No, I'm happier to just do the plumbing for your bathroom. It's
what i'm good at. I would recommend you contact a builder for a full
renovation as part of their job is organising.
Q: Do you have a "Gold Licence"?
A: There has been no such thing as the "Gold Card" Since the early
90's. It was phased out because it implied that an extra level of
excellence had been achieved. In fact, every licensed tradesman had
"The Gold Card". You sometimes still see some businesses
advertising their Gold License number in an attempt to make
themselves look better.
Q: Are you a
"Master Plumber"
A: No, while it sounds like they have achieved some level of
excellence, Master Plumbers are plumbers who are members of an
association that sends them a magazine. :-)
Q: Do you work 24hrs/ 7 days?
A: No. Monday to Friday. Normal Business hours.
Q: Do you do roofing?
A: No, that's a separate trade these days.
