Southern Wonders 2 Night / 3 Day Tour 2006 -2007

This personally guided tour explores some of my favourite Western Australian destinations in one scenic 4WD eco-tour. You will be travelling in a Land Rover Discovery 4WD so come with me and discover the beauty, diversity and hospitality of Margaret River, Pemberton, Tree Top Walk, Denmark and Albany.

Perfection Awaits You! An eco tour that features clear, crisp air, fertile landscapes of the southern forest region that produce and nurture the imposing forests of Karri, Marri and Tingle trees. The magnificent landscapes are a blend of gentle sloping vineyard hillsides, majestic and ancient forests and a coastline that has exhilarating views across the vast Southern Ocean.

Your Itinerary

Over three magnificent days, you will discover the phenomenon of the southern wonderland of Western Australia only hours from Perth's CBD.

Day One
Perth - Busselton - Margaret River
Heading south from Perth, we stop for morning tea at Peel Inlet and on to Busselton. Visit the 2km long timber jetty, jutting into Geograhphe Bay. Dunsborough, Yallingup, enjoy the scenic coastline pristine white sandy beaches, ragged rock formation, roaring seas or fabulous aquamarine bays, spot passing dolphins in the Indian Ocean.

Travel along the famous scenic Caves Road home to many of Margaret River region wineries. Here, we visit several vineyards, then head to the mouth of Margaret River for spectacular views of the coastline and see the dedicated surfers hone their skills at Surfers Beach one of Margaret River Regions known Surfing spots.

After, we head to Margaret River township to our over night stay at Rosewood Guest House B&B a charming 4 Star Bed and Breakfast.

Day Two
Margaret River - Augusta - Pemberton - Denmark
Following breakfast travel south to the Boranup forest a tall timber Karri forest. Visit Cape Leeuwin near Augusta see the convergence of the Southern Ocean and the Indian Ocean. Tour to Pemberton an old timber town that now enjoys a new life style showing off its natural beauty of Karri forests. Climb Gloucester Tree the highest fire lookout tree in the world and.. Visit Fine Woodcraft Gallery containing locally produced works. Continue south to Walpole.

Travel from Walpole to the Tree Top Walk The drive into the Tree Top Walk is spectacular. Karri and Red Tingle Trees loom out of the forest an indication of what is to come at the Tree Top Walk and the Ancient Empire. You must experience the Tree Top Walk. Stroll among the upper branches of giant Tingle and Karri Trees for a "birds eye view" of the southern forests. This is a fun and exhilarating thing to do. Nearby under the Tree Top Walk is a winding boardwalk that takes you through a grove of veteran Red Tingle trees called the Ancient Empire. You can walk through the hollowed out butt of one tree.

Travel on to Denmark our overnight stay at The Grange Bed & Breakfast 4 star. Our accommodation has panoramic pastoral valley views from the wide verandahs of a homestead perched on picturesque 70 acres - 3 kms from the heart of Denmark.

Day Three
Denmark - Albany - Perth
After breakfast we travel the scenic route to spectacular West Cape Howe and Shelley Beach before heading in to the Albany region to visit the Natural Bridge, The Gap and visit the Wind Farm. Visit Albany township and view the Albany coastline, Stirling Ranges and Porongurup's from Mount Clarence.

On our return trip to Perth visit Mount Barker an agriculture and wine growing town where we will have lunch and if you wish take part in wine tasting. We will be touring through scenic premier agriculture land to have you back in Perth at about 5.30pm

Tour operates daily. Depart Perth hotels 7am return 5.30pm
