Step #1: Pull the bolt pin upwards and slide the bolt out the
back of your Cyborg. |
Step #2: Remove the
ram-cap by screwing it counter-clockwise. |
Step #3: Pull the ram
housing from the body. This may take some work on new 07 Cyborgs. |
Step #4: Remove the
ram (the brass piece) from the ram housing. |
Step #5: Using a piece
of paper towel, remove all old lube from the o-rings on the outside of the
ram housing. |
Step #6: Using a q-tip
or scrunched piece of paper towel, clean the inside of the ram housing. |
Step #7: Cut the
cotton head off a q-tip. Apply about half a pea size of lube to the end of
the shaft. Use the lubed q-tip shaft to apply a thin layer of lubricant to
the inside of the ram housing. This is the ram housing maintenance complete,
so put it to the side. |
Step #8: Clean all old
lube and dirt from the ram using a piece of paper towel. |
Step #9: Apply about
half a pea size of lube to the larger static o-ring. Slide the floating
o-ring to one side of the ram, and lube the stem evenly. Pull the floating
o-ring to the other side so that it runs across the lubed stem. Lightly lube
the stem again and slide the floating o-ring back and forth to ensure an
even distribution of lube. Now, lube the floating o-ring. For further clarification -- the diagram to the left illustrates where to lube; click the image for an enlarged view. |
| Step #10: Replace the ram into the ram housing. Re-insert the ram housing into the body, and replace the ram cap. You may find it beneficial to lightly lube the ram cap’s threads to avoid difficulties in the future. That concludes ram maintenance. | |||||
