Chopping
- Battery is low. Replace with high quality 9v.
- Check eyes are enabled and functioning.
- Eye sensitivity setting is set too low (especially if hopper batteries
are wearing out); view the electronics
guide for instructions to change.
- Dwell may be too low; view the electronics
guide for instructions to change. This may be especially true if you are
using very fragile paint.
- Rebalance the regulators; your LPR may be set too high. This may be
especially true if you are using very fragile paint. View
instructions for balancing regs.
- Inspect the bolt for jagged edges on the bolt face.
- Inspect the front o-ring in the bolt; if this is damaged or missing
you will chop.
- Ensure the paint you are using is high quality and reasonably fresh.
If you are playing in particularly cold conditions, you may want to use
paint with a thicker shell.
- Check your hopper is not feeding too aggressively.

Balancing the regulators
Step #1: Set your HPR to 200psi.
Step #2: Degas the marker.
Step #3: Screw your LPR out counter-clockwise about 4 turns.
Step #4: Gas up the marker; fire and notice how the gun performs
incomplete cycles. Slowly screw the LPR in clockwise, firing after each
increment, until your gun is performing complete cycles. From here,
increase the LPR another quarter to half a turn. (This is easiest to
distinguish with the barrel off; you will definitely notice the loud
CRACK of a complete cycle.)
Step #5: Your LPR is set; adjust your HPR to achieve desired FPS.

Creeping pressures
- Inspect the LPR piston o-rings. Replace if necessary. Otherwise, clean
and re-lube. Make sure no dirt or debris present. Click
here for LPR guide.
- Inspect the HPR internals; make sure no dirt or debris present. Make
sure all the o-rings are in good shape and replace if necessary. Clean
and re-lube. Click here for HPR guide.
- Make sure Schrader valve is not loose. (don't over-tighten though!)

FSDO [First Shot Drop Off]
- Ensure there is NO lube on the ram bumper o-ring. Make sure the bottom
of the ram housing is clean. Click here for a
guide on correctly maintaining the ram.
- Battery may be low. Replace with a high quality 9v.
- If everything is set fine, and FSDO still occurs, use the board's ABS
settings to alleviate the problem. View the
electronics page for instructions.
- Dwell may be set too low. Try increasing it a click or returning it to
default (electronics guide). LPR may also
be too low. Try increasing it by screwing it in clockwise a quarter
turn.
- Ensure ball detents are not too tight (04-06 models).

Leaks
- Back of gun (ram): clean and re-lube the ram. If you
have just done that, retry but be more generous in your lube application
and try using Dow 55 over 33. Inspect the o-rings; they may need to be
replaced. If this doesn't resolve the issue, ensure you are not hearing
a leak from the solenoid.
- Down the barrel: first, remove the LPR, and reassemble in case
the spring, spacer and poppet were not aligned correctly. If this does
not resolve the issue, the leak is most likely due to an incomplete seal
around the valve. Remove the valve, inspect the o-rings and replace if
necessary. Lube them generously. I prefer Dow 55 on these o-rings.

Inconsistency
- Battery may be low; replace with a high quality 9v.
- Service your HPR and LPR.
- Low dwell settings can cause inconsistency. Try readjusting to a
higher value.
- Use higher quality or fresher paint. Match your bore size to the
paint.

Trigger will not fire
- In most cases, this is caused by not having enough travel in the
trigger pull, which prevents the microswitch from actuating. Try
increasing the the amount of travel in your trigger pull. Remove the
grips from your Cyborg and observe the movement of the middle firing
point screw as you pull the trigger; adjust it accordingly so it
activates the microswitch and ALSO allows it to deactivate.

Velocity drop-off
This pertains to velocity drop-off that occurs while shooting a "string"
of paint. Not FSDO.
- Battery may be low; replace with a high quality 9v.
- Drop-off will occur if your dwell is set particularly low. Try
returning it to the stock value.
- Perform a full service; bolt,
ram, HPR and
LPR.

Intermittent skipped shots
- This refers to the louder "fart" noise and absence of paint for a
shot that will occur intermittently while shooting a string prevalent in
the 07 Cyborgs. There are several theories as to why it occurs; some
have reported the issue was resolved when their board was upgraded or
reflashed to NoX Unleashed code. It may also be an issue with the
initial run of solenoids that peak at about 20 CPS. The skipped shots
become less prevalent when eye sensitivity is increased to around 10 or
12, and a max ROF is specified (between 20 and 30), rather than using
the unlimited setting.

Marker will not exceed 20bps
- This is a known issue with 07 Cyborgs. The tolerances of the
solenoids MacDev purchased for the 07 Cyborg were not as tight as
expected. MacDev has acknowledged the issue and is in the process of
securing a new solenoid. Existing customers will have access to the new
solenoid for free as it becomes available.

Marker is loud
- Cyborgs are usually pretty quiet; there are some though that have
a real BANG to them... this is, in most cases, because the LPR is set
too high and the solenoid vents with each shot.
