Comments: One word... rebounds. Averaged a double double at the U18s with 11.9 pts and 16.3 rebs. Looks to be strong on the boards and that helped her efficiency rate signifcantly. You know she's doing something right when she can have 10 turnovers, yet still have an efficiency of over 20 in the same game.
AYOF: Same word... rebounds. Great knack for getting on the offensive glass. She was probably the 10th player on this Aussie team and saw a lot of bench time.

Comments: Like Herrick, Manou's from The Hills so she gets my vote! Go The Hills girls! But anyway, continuing on... Manou's one of the younger newbies and had a solid performance at the U16s. Averaging a double double, her importance to her team is clear in the stats. NSW Metro defeated QLD South by 30 in the round games, yet lost by 12 in the last game when Manou's numbers were down.
Netball's loss is basketball's gain. She's just going to get better and better with more time in basketball. One to watch.

Comments: Another one from Vic Metro. Had a tidy performance in limited minutes on a packed Vic team. Victoria's like a machine - it keeps churning out promising juniors and over 50% of the WNBL is still loaded with Victorian players.

Comments: Playing with the Adelaide Lightning in 2004/05, WNBLers have already had a chance to see her play. In the U18 Nationals she started well offensively but then the numbers fizzled after two games. She's out of college ball contention because she played for Adelaide, so they have a pretty decent chance of retaining her services after the AIS, unless she does a Newley and goes elsewhere.

Comments: A Queenslander! Toured the US with the AIS late in 2004 and has probably played against most of the others, so she'd be fairly familiar with her new team.
AYOF: Capitain of the Aussie team, she had a great performance at the Youth Olympics. Can score, rebound, dish out assists, and hit the big buckets in crunch time as seen against China in the final. A solid build, she's definitely one to look out for.

Comments: Could this be? The last of Ray's girls? Louella Tomlinson has the genes. Brought into the AIS early with Penaluna leaving, she's already had a mini dip into the WNBL. Hopefully Tomlinson will be able to bulk up a bit as she fills out.
AYOF: As the starting centre of the Aussie team, she averaged the least amount of rebounds, which could be concerning. She pulled out her running hook/scoop shot several times with varied success. Gets plenty of air on her shots and can hit from long range. Handy shot blocker.
