The Staff of Morley Aquariums
The owners
Paul and Janet Slabbert established Morley Aquariums, and to this day still own and personally manage the store. Their interests run as diverse as exotic tropical fishes, African and American cichlids, axolotls, goldfish and Australian native fishes. No matter what piece of information you need on whatever type of fish or setup, Paul or Janet can help you. Paul also has vast experience with disease prevention and treatment in aquatic animals.
Other Staff at Morley Aquariums
Michael specialises in husbandry of Lake Tanganyikan cichlids, both common and rare, while also breeding high quality Lake Malawi cichlids. Michael also possesses a good deal of knowledge on Australian & New Guinea natives, and is very familiar with pond design and maintenance.
Troy F. possesses a great knowledge of planted tanks and the equipment used to maintain high-tech 'Dutch' style planted aquariums, as well as being well-versed on the tetras and other tropical species that go into them. Troy is no stranger to African cichlids either, having kept them for years.
Dan is a cichlid specialist, and is happy to answer any queries about setting up and maintaining Lake Malawi cichlids. Breeding these fishes is also a hobby of Dan's, and he is currently working hard to expand his collection and knowledge of the many geographical varieties available today.
Troy T. is our most hardworking staff member. Troy has kept fish of all kinds for many years, and is always willing to go further for his customers. Troy is also knowledgeable about marine systems, and is happy to chat to anyone about his passion for mini- and nano-reef aquaria.
Robby is our newest staff member, and currently works two days a week. He is working hard to acquire the specialist knowledge that all members of the Morley Aquariums staff possess.
